NOTICE — BETA STAGE. The Bits CRM Service is in BETA stage. If we introduce new local storage technologies (analytics, marketing, etc.), this Policy will be updated and user consent will be requested in accordance with Romanian Law 506/2004 art. 4(5).
Preamble
This Cookie Policy (hereinafter the “Policy”) explains what local storage technologies we use on the bitscrm.ro website and in the Bits CRM application, what their purpose is, how you can manage them, and how we request your consent where required.
Operator: BITS DIGITAL SOLUTIONS S.R.L. (hereinafter “Bits CRM” or “we”).
Contact: office@64bits.it.
This Policy is part of the Privacy Policy and is to be read together with it, with the Terms and Conditions and with other applicable policies.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files that a website may store in your browser when you visit it. They are used to remember preferences, maintain authenticated sessions or, in other cases, track user behaviour.
Similar technologies include:
- localStorage and sessionStorage — storage spaces in the browser, without automatic expiry (localStorage) or valid only for the session duration (sessionStorage);
- IndexedDB — local browser database for structured data;
- Web beacons / pixels — small transparent images that signal the loading of a page to a third-party server;
- Fingerprinting — browser identification through combinations of technical attributes.
In this Policy, we will refer collectively to “cookies” for any of these technologies.
2. Legal framework
The use of cookies is governed by:
- EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) — for cookies that process personal data;
- Romanian Law no. 506/2004 art. 4(5) — which transposes Directive 2002/58/EC (ePrivacy): for non-strictly-necessary cookies, the prior informed consent of the user is mandatory;
- EDPB and ANSPDCP recommendations on transparency and consent mechanisms.
Cookies strictly necessary for the operation of a service requested by the user (authentication, security, basic preferences) are exempt from the consent requirement.
3. Cookies used on bitscrm.ro (public site)
As of the last update, the public site bitscrm.ro does not use non-strictly-necessary cookies:
| Category | Used? | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Possibly minimal | Possible technical cookies set automatically by the hosting infrastructure (CDN edge), without user identification |
| Preferences | No | The site does not memorise preferences between visits |
| Analytics | No | No analytics tool (Google Analytics, Plausible, Matomo, Fathom, etc.) |
| Marketing / Advertising | No | No marketing pixels (Meta, LinkedIn, Google Ads, TikTok, Reddit, etc.) |
| Social media | No | No embedded social widgets |
3.1 Third-party services used for site rendering
The bitscrm.ro site connects to the following third-party services strictly for content rendering (fonts, icons). These services do not set cookies in your browser, but your IP address becomes visible to the provider for the duration of the technical request:
| Provider | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) | Loading fonts and Material icons | IP address, user-agent (necessary for font delivery) |
The Operator exercises reasonable diligence to evaluate the privacy impact of these services and considers self-hosted alternatives where technically feasible.
4. Local storage in the Bits CRM application (after authentication)
In the Bits CRM web application (after authentication), we use local browser storage for:
| Category | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Authenticated session | Maintaining authentication across pages, without re-login on each request | Strictly necessary — Romanian Law 506/2004 art. 4(5), exempt from consent |
| Interface preferences (where applicable) | Remembering last open tab, display options, etc. | Strictly necessary for the operation of the Service chosen by the user |
The technical details of the session-maintenance mechanisms are protected as trade secrets; see the Privacy Policy for a general description of security measures.
In the mobile applications (iOS, Android), session data is stored through the secure mechanisms of the operating system, accessible exclusively to the Bits CRM application.
5. User consent
5.1 Consent banner
At present, we do not display a consent banner on the public site, because we do not use non-strictly-necessary cookies.
5.2 Future changes
If we introduce analytics, marketing or other technologies that require consent, we will:
- display a compliant banner in accordance with Romanian Law 506/2004 and ANSPDCP / EDPB recommendations, with visually equivalent options between “Accept” and “Reject”;
- allow granular opt-in by category (preferences, analytics, marketing);
- maintain an auditable consent record;
- not pre-tick non-essential options (CJEU Planet49 decision C-673/17);
- allow withdrawal of consent at any time, through the same facility that set it.
The Policy will be updated with the detailed list of new cookies before technical implementation.
6. How to manage cookies from your browser
Regardless of the sites you visit, you can control cookies directly from your browser. Here is how, for major browsers:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari (macOS): Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data
- Mobile (iOS Safari, Android Chrome): System settings → browser section
Note: disabling or deleting strictly necessary cookies may affect the operation of the Bits CRM application (for example, it may automatically log you out).
For general information about cookies, you may also consult sites such as allaboutcookies.org or aboutcookies.org.
7. Cookies and data protection
If we use cookies that process personal data (analytics, marketing, fingerprinting), this processing will also be reflected in the Privacy Policy, including:
- the categories of data collected;
- the purposes of processing;
- the legal basis (consent);
- the duration of storage;
- recipients (sub-processors, international transfers);
- data subject rights (access, erasure, objection, portability).
8. Modifications to the Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect:
- the introduction of new cookies or storage technologies;
- legislative changes;
- clarifications of existing practices.
Notice: before the introduction of any non-strictly-necessary cookie, we will request user consent and update this Policy. For modifications that have no impact on user privacy (clarifications, neutral modifications), the Policy may be updated by publishing a new version at /en/cookie-policy.
Public versioning on the dedicated page, with the effective date clearly marked.
